What's the problem?
What’s the solution?
This workshop introduces outcome thinking as a practical execution skill for product teams.
Outcomes are framed as changes in user or customer behaviour and improvements in real problems, not as features or deliverables. Teams learn how to uncover the outcome behind a solution request and use it to guide decisions in their daily product work.
Outcome thinking becomes a tool to:
understand what success actually means,
negotiate scope and solutions with stakeholders,
and stay focused on user impact while supporting business goals.
Distinguishing outputs, outcomes, and impact in everyday product work
Identifying user and customer behaviour change as outcomes
Framing outcomes as problem improvement rather than solutions
Rewriting output-focused user stories into outcome-oriented ones
Interviewing stakeholders to uncover the real outcome behind feature requests
Using outcomes to create flexibility in how solutions are delivered
Who It’s For?
Product managers and product owners
Cross-functional product teams
Development teams working closely with product
Teams struggling to move beyond feature-driven execution
For product teams who want more impact and less solution lock-in.
How it works
The workshop is hands-on and tailored to the team’s real product context.
Teams work with existing user stories, backlog items, and stakeholder requests from their own environment. Through guided exercises, they practise uncovering underlying outcomes, reformulating work in outcome-oriented terms, and using outcomes as a basis for discussion and decision-making.
The focus is on skills teams can apply immediately in planning, refinement, and stakeholder conversations.
Outcome thinking is treated as a daily working practice, not a theoretical concept.
